Bamboo toothbrush - let's be eco-friendly together!

Recently helping others and supporting the environment is much more important to me. I already quite consciously was reaching for Lush's products, knowing a little bit about their cruelty free policy, using mainly ingredients of plant origin (which makes their products suitable for vegetarians or vegans), recycling black packaging on a really large scale and many other actions that they represent. So, my dear, I don't buy their items just because they're trendy and expensive.

But it's not just about Lush. I give this company as an example because I recently talked quite a lot about it, mainly in my vlogs. There are many other brands that are just as concerned about the health of us, animals and our planet, which are less known and to which you just have to reach. I'll try to discover them, although I admit with hand on heart, that part of me is still all about the Korean skincare, and I think that it won't change soon, because every day I'm bombarded with ever newer and sweeter products that scream they want to be with me. ;;

Ostatnio dużo ważniejsze stało się dla mnie pomaganie innym i wspieranie środowiska. Już wcześniej dość świadomie sięgałam po produkty chociażby Lusha, wiedząc trochę o ich polityce zwalczania testowania produktów na zwierzętach (cruelty free), korzystania głównie ze składników pochodzenia roślinnego (co czyni ich produkty odpowiednie dla wegetarian czy wegan), ogromnej skali recyklingu czarnych opakowań i o wielu innych akcjach, które sobą reprezentują. Więc moi kochani, nie kupuję ich dlatego, że są modni i drodzy.

Ale to nie tylko Lush. Podaję tę firmę jako przykład tylko dlatego, że ostatnio dość dużo o niej mówiłam, głównie we vlogach. Jest wiele innych marek, które tak samo troszczą się o zdrowie nas, zwierząt i naszej planety, które są mniej znane i do których trzeba po prostu dotrzeć. Bardzo wolno staram się je odkrywać, choć przyznaję z ręką na sercu, że częścią wciąż jestem przy koreańskiej pielęgnacji i chyba tak szybko się to nie zmieni, gdyż z każdym dniem jestem bombardowana coraz to nowszymi i słodszymi produktami, które aż krzyczą, że chcą być ze mną. ;;

But let's move on and talk about toothbrush.

Wherever I went, and I was traveling quite often recently, I heard "Wow, Lisa, your wooden toothbrush is awesome!" Everyone liked its simple design reminiscent of the brushes from the old days. Probably very old, because my mother declares that the whole life she uses plastic toothbrushes.

Exactly. Plastic Toothbrushes. About 7 BILLION of them are thrown away annually. This gives 23 thousand tonnes of plastic, which decompose from 100 to 1,000 years. The solution is really simple - bamboo brush.

Ale przejdźmy już do szczoteczki.

Gdziekolwiek teraz jeżdżę, a trochę w ostatnim czasie jeździłam, wszędzie słyszałam "Ła, Lisa, ale Ty masz fajną drewnianą szczoteczkę!" Wszystkim podobał się jej prosty design przypominający szczoteczki z dawnych lat. Chyba bardzo dawnych, bo moja mama deklaruje, że przez całe życie używała szczoteczek plastikowych.

No właśnie. Szczoteczki plastikowe. Około 7 MILIARDÓW takowych jest wyrzucanych rocznie. To daje 23 TYSIĄCE ton plastiku, który rozkłada się od 100 do 1000 lat. Rozwiązanie jest naprawdę proste - szczoteczki bambusowe.

They are made of bamboo, on pandas don't feed, so the bears don't suffer. They are biodegradable and their bristles are BPA FREE (don't contain Bisphenol A, which negatively affect the human endocrine, though apparently all what's made of plastic, even a BIO-plastic releases substances that affect mainly children). They come in a paper box, which of course is decomposing in the soil, and the package made of corn starch. All this is not specific only for Ecobamboo brushes that I use, but for most brands, which, unfortunately, aren't much out there. But there is one especially recommended, which is Brush with Bamboo.

Wykonane są z bambusa, którym nie żywią się pandy, więc niedźwiadki na tym nie cierpią. Są biodegradowalne a ich włosie jest BPA FREE (czyli nie zawiera Bisfenolu A, który negatywnie wpływa na gospodarkę hormonalną człowieka, choć ponoć wszystko co plastikowe, nawet jeżeli jest BIO-plastikowe uwalnia substancje wpływające głównie na dzieci). Przychodzą w papierowym pudełku, który oczywiście rozkłada się w glebie, oraz w opakowania zrobione ze skrobi kukurydzianej. Wszystko to nie jest charakterystyczne tylko dla szczoteczek Ecobamboo, których używam, ale dla większości marek, których niestety nie ma wiele. Ale jest jedna szczególnie polecana, którą jest Brush with Bamboo.

For such brushes you should take care a little bit differently than for others.

- They should not be stored in damp places (ie keep in cups with water at the bottom).

- You have to carefully clean bristles, what is quite simple.

- Color of the brush naturally fade with use.

Z takimi szczoteczkami należy postępować trochę inaczej niż z innymi. 

- Nie powinny być one przechowywane w wilgotnych miejscach (czyli w kubkach zbierających wodę).

- Trzeba dbać o uważne czyszczenie włosia, co akurat jest dość proste.

- Kolor szczoteczki naturalnie blaknie wraz z użytkowaniem.

As for Ecobamboo, I really like that they have several versions of toothbrushes - with soft, medium or hard bristles, but you can meet even some of the supersoft and special for children.

I currently have a second brush. Both with soft bristles, because I have a very sensitive teeth and gums. A little regret that I didn't buy the most delicate, which was available, but I'll do it next time.

Jeżeli chodzi o Ecobamboo, bardzo podoba mi się to, że mają kilka wersji szczoteczek - z miękkim, średnim lub twardym włosiem, ale można spotkać nawet takie z supermiękkim czy specjalnym dla dzieci. 

Obecnie mam swoją drugą szczoteczkę. Obie z włosiem miękkim, bo mam bardzo wrażliwe i zęby i dziąsła. Trochę żałuję, że nie wzięłam najbardziej delikatnej, jaka była możliwa, ale zrobię to następnym razem.

Time for experiences of using bamboo brushes!

It seems to me that my first brush was a little poorly sanded, because irritated the inside of the mouth so so much. Particularly the lower part at the corners. I have a blood phobia, so few times when I was washing my teeth, I suddenly became dumbfounded looking at the blood running down my chin, then quickly spit out everything and ran out of the bathroom and horrified wrote to my friends. This maybe happened three times, but three times too much.

I also noticed that a soft bristles is not so soft and irritates my teeth and gums a little, which again ends up with bleeding. But it also may be that I just too hard empathize with the act of cleaning teeth. :D

Czas na doświadczenia z użytkowania bambusowych szczoteczek!

Wydaje mi się, że moja pierwsza szczoteczka była trochę źle wyszlifowana, gdyż bardzo, ale to bardzo podrażniała mi wewnętrzną część ust. Szczególnie dolną, przy kącikach. Mam hemofobię, więc nie raz myjąc zęby, nagle stawałam w osłupieniu patrząc na krew spływającą po mojej brodzie, po czym szybko wypluwałam wszystko, wybiegałam z łazienki i pisałam przerażona do przyjaciół. Zdarzyło się to może trzy razy, ale o te trzy razy za dużo.

Zauważyłam też, że to miękkie włosie, wcale nie jest takie miękkie i trochę podrażnia mi zęby i dziąsła, co znów kończy się na krwawieniu. Ale spowodowane może być to tym, że po prostu zbyt mocno wczuwam się w akt czyszczenia zębów. :D

I will continue to look for an ideal brush, ie that which will be nice for me and for the environment.
W dalszym ciągu będę szukać szczoteczki idealnej, czyli takiej, która będzie milutka i dla mnie i dla środowiska.
